• A Beautiful Book to Add to Your TBR

Hello everyone, it’s Mattie! It’s been raining a lot lately, so for my post this week, I thought I would recommend a nice cozy book to read during the stormy weather. The book is Thorn by Intisar Kahnani. I read this last fall and introduced it a little in our Fall TBR video, but basically, this book is a retelling of the fairytale The Goose Girl. I have never actually read the original Goose Girl story, but I have read quite a few retellings. This one is my favorite by far.  The story starts out with the main character Alyrra who is the princess of a small country in a…

  • A Springtime Collection

Hi, everyone! It’s Amelia writing today. Now that spring is here, I thought I would share a few things that both remind me of spring and are inspired by spring. I hope you enjoy this little spring collection that I gathered up for this post! Poems / quotes There is no time like Spring,  When life’s alive in everything,  Before new nestlings sing,  Before cleft swallows speed their journey back  Along the trackless track –  God guides their wing,  He spreads their table that they nothing lack, –  Before the daisy grows a common flower  Before the sun has power  To scorch the world up in his noontide hour. –…

  • Things I’ve Been Enjoying Lately

Hello, everyone! It’s Amelia writing today. For this post I just thought I’d share a few things I’ve been enjoying recently. I really like when others do this type of post because it really helps me to reflect on the things I’ve enjoyed and to think more about counting my own blessings. Thinking of these highlights really helped me to remember all of the little blessings I’ve been receiving lately! Audiobooks – I’ve really liked listening to them as I exercise! Playing The Minute Waltz on the piano – This has been a fun (and sometimes frustrating) challenge 😄 Studying with a friend – it’s been a lot of fun…

The Sherwood Ring by Elizabeth Marie Pope ⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Newly orphaned Peggy Grahame is caught off-guard when she first arrives at her family’s ancestral estate. The house is full of mysteries and ghosts. Soon Peggy becomes involved with the spirits of her own Colonial ancestors and witnesses the unfolding of a centuries-old romance against a backdrop of spies and intrigue and of battles plotted and foiled.” This book was written in 1958 and has an almost dual timeline between then and Colonial New York. The synopsis sounds strange, but don’t let…
