A Springtime Collection

Hi, everyone! It’s Amelia writing today.

Now that spring is here, I thought I would share a few things that both remind me of spring and are inspired by spring. I hope you enjoy this little spring collection that I gathered up for this post!

Poems / quotes

There is no time like Spring,

When life’s alive in everything,

Before new nestlings sing,

Before cleft swallows speed their journey back

Along the trackless track –

God guides their wing,

He spreads their table that they nothing lack, –

Before the daisy grows a common flower

Before the sun has power

To scorch the world up in his noontide hour.

– Christina Rossetti

“Everything is new in the spring. Springs themselves are always so new, too. No spring is ever just like any other spring. It always has something of its own to be its own peculiar sweetness.”

– L. M. Montgomery

“The warm spring sunshine brought out all sorts of aspiring ideas, tender hopes, and happy thoughts.”

– Louisa May Alcott

Books

These books aren’t necessarily set during the spring, but are just ones that remind me a little of spring and are overall cheery books to read during the season. 🙂

The Brownie and the Princes and Other Stories – Louisa May Alcott

Emily of New Moon – L.M. Montgomery

The Wind in the Willows – Kenneth Graham

Heidi – Johanna Spyri

Paintings

Almond Blossoms – Vincent Van Gogh
Spring Bouquet – Pierre-Auguste Renoir
Daisies – Lilias Trotter

Music

Here’s is the link to an instrumental gardening playlist that I made: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4umX1dD5qv7C1XfW6Xh82z

These are just a few songs that reminded me of spring and would be nice to listen to while gardening, and I hope you enjoy!

Thanks for reading this post. I’d love to hear anything that reminds you of spring, and we’ll see you in the next one. 🙂

This was such a lovely post to read this morning. The paintings are beautiful… I’ve never seen the one by Lilias Trotter but I actually have a biography on her and it’s such an inspiring story. So it was special for see that painting. 🙂 I love the quotes too, and I’m looking forward to checking out the gardening playlist!
