A Few Autumn Favorites

Hey everyone!

When it came time to sit down and start thinking about this post, I realized I could not conjure up any wise words to give you. So, I thought, “Why not just gather up some beautiful things to share all in one post?” I really love reading this type of post, so I hope the autumnal content will be the perfect thing to share for your day! <3

⟡ Recent Memories + Highlights ⟡

⟡ Autumn walks when it’s getting a little colder out

⟡ Getting coffee

⟡ An online movie night with my penpals

⟡ Going to the Farmstead with a new friend

⟡ Getting tons of sky pictures from a friend <3

⟡ Finding a lovely chord progression on the piano

⟡ Watching SO much Larkrise to Candleford with Mattie

⟡ Recent Reads ⟡

⟡ A Dress for the Wicked – Autumn Krause

Though it ended kind of abruptly and I didn’t care for the friendships/relationships, I ended up liking this story quite a bit.

⟡ Macbeth – William Shakespeare

I read this for English class and enjoyed the interesting twists of the plot as well as the emotion and character development.

⟡ Splinters of Scarlet – Emily Bain Murphy

This is a historical fantasy, and I loved this for its themes of selflessness and its wonderful characters.

⟡ Wishtress – Nadine Brandes

Though I wanted this to be a bit better, I really liked the setting, plot, and characters of the story. This book also happened to be my most anticipated release of the year.

⟡Recipes⟡

Pumpkin muffins

These have been a favorite for years. They’re perfect for when the weather starts to get colder!

Cinnamon rolls

This was a new recipe for us. I’m a bit picky with my cinnamon rolls, but these were delicious!

Quinoa broccoli casserole

I made this for dinner when my parents went out of town, and it turned out pretty good. Though a bit heavy on the dairy, this was a nice recipe to change up our meals a little.

⟡ Shows/Podcasts⟡

⟡ As I mentioned, Larkrise to Candleford was on constantly in September. If you love historical shows without an overload of drama, you should love this!

⟡ Lately, we’ve been re-watching All Creatures Great and Small and I’m remembering just how good it is. All of the cinematography is beautiful and the characters are so entertaining.

⟡ This podcast episode by Joy Clarkson was so helpful for the season I’m in right now!

I hope you enjoyed this post and I’d love to hear what you’ve been enjoying this season! <3

Amelia, I love this! There are so many little things we can be thankful for and enjoy, and it was fun to see some of your favorites. I love the dress you’re wearing in the photo, and yes, Lark Rise to Candleford is the best. <3

Oh my, the whole time I read this I wanted to squeal “really? Me too!” First of all, Larkrise is amazing. Tis probably my favorite show. All Creatures Great and Small is so good too! And I’ve never found anyone who listens to Joy Clarkson before, her podcast is amazing. Have you heard of Book Girl? It’s written by Joy’s sister, Sarah Clarkson and I think you would probably quite enjoy it.

Thank you so much for your comment! 🙂 Haha that is so great that we have so much in common! We must be kindred spirits 😉 Oh yeah, my mom told me about her podcast forever ago and I’ve listened ever since! All of her podcast episodes are so good. Yes I have heard of that book! I got it for Christmas a few years back and it’s so good! Do you have a favorite podcast episode from Joy? Thanks again for your comment, it’s such a joy to talk with you <3

I think so. That’s lovely! Joy’s podcast is so good. Hmm I don’t know if I have a favorite episode… there’s so many good ones to pick from. Do you have a favorite? Do you ever follow along with her summer book club?
Aw thank you, and likewise ☺️

Yes, there are so many good ones! I loved when Joy did an advice/Q&A episode with her friend, that was super entertaining! My family and I read A Wrinkle in Time along with her, and I think my parents have participated in more of her book clubs. How about you? 🙂
